I’ve done a lot of reading lately. And while I wish I was reading a biography or fiction, children’s books have been at the top of my reading list. I can’t help it. I’ve got two little ones just eating them up. (In Beatrice’s case, both literally and figuratively.)
I felt like I was missing out by not expanding my literature horizons, but then I made a realisation. People spend hundreds, maybe even thousands, of dollars on self-help tools… books, DVD, seminars. But for under 10$, I can usually find a children’s book that’s a quick read, has gorgeous and/or amusing images AND that celebrates how special I am… or how loved I am. We feel it important to pass on these positive messages to our children, but how often do we apply these messages to our own lives?
So, I guess if I have to read kid’s books, then I might as well get something out of them too (other than the resulting baby cuddles, of course.)
Here are a few of my favorites, to get you started.
