Day 133-136 – Pretty in Passing

Where has the time gone?  I only just now realised that I haven’t posted anything in FOUR DAYS!  Not good.

The Ottawa Fringe is about a month away and I’m starting to feel the pressure.  Everything seems to be going smoothly, but I keep looking over my shoulder wondering when something is going to push me down.

I haven’t much time to write, but I have taken pictures everyday, so here’s what I’ve seen while I’ve been too busy to really see.

Day 133 – I’m not really a girly-girl, but I always turn into one for a short while when my Dad gives me flowers.  I can’t help it… he has great taste.

Day 134 – I’ve been trying to get out each day and relax in my backyard.  Working in a stuffy building isn’t conducive to  being at one with nature.  I really appreciate the break, even if it’s only for 5 minutes.

Day 135 – I finally got the chance to go out with one of my girlfriends whom I hadn’t seen in ages.  I even took a few extra minutes to test out some new eye makeup.  Now, I’m not posting this pic because I think I’m a beautiful makeup artist.  However, I do think it’s pretty neat that I’ve grown to have the confidence to try something new in the makeup department.  I’ve always been a lip gloss and blush type of girl.  Not anymore, at least not all of the time.

Day 136 – I’ve been so swamped with work, I didn’t even notice that we’d run out of milk until Lil B was on her third glass of water and juice.  Luckily, my hubby was free to do a grocery run.  He came back with all the necessities, plus 5 different types of ice cream!  Firstly, this man knows me way too well.  Secondly, he had the perfect reasoning behind his purchases:  “They were on sale.”

Day 63 – Signs

This may not seem like anything beautiful to you, but it’s beautiful to me. This is the first time I’ve seen my front lawn since, what, November? Spring is coming!!! Yay!!!

Day 58, 59 and 60 – Beautiful Moments Galore

This weekend was just so full of awesome that I barely had time to let it all soak in, let alone write about it.  But here’s a sampling:

Day 58:

If you don’t know this man, you should.  Do yourself a favor and watch his videos.  You’ll thank me later.

Day 59:

We had a low-key birthday party for Beatrice with family and a few close friends.  I had pancakes with strawberries, chocolate sauce and whipped cream.  Oh. so. good.

Beatrice however, wasn’t overly impressed.

Who cares about the fruit! Where is my cake?!?!?!?!

Day 60 –

Just as I was getting on the highway today for what felt like the 50th time, I noticed a strange glare.  I looked up to see what looked like a rainbow peaking through these fantastic horizontal grey/blue clouds.    I couldn’t see much of the rainbow, but what shone through were these amazingly bright colors.    It totally made the end of my day and the stress from all the day’s driving melted away.  If I wouldn’t have been in the car at that moment, I probably wouldn’t have seen that.

Day 56 – Space

As I am married to an Englishman, I am constantly reminded of how lucky we are in Canada to have space.   My husband has commented about how “much sky” there is in the Prairies and thinks that my childhood stories retelling how I used to equate having lots of trees to being rich are cute.

But he is right.  The space we have here is amazing.  And so, here are a few photos as an homage to space.

Day 35 – Enjoying Winter

When I drove to pick up my tiny people from daycare, I saw the most amazing winter sky.  The trees, all barren of leaves, looked remarkably striking layered with the cloudy grey sky.   I really wanted to take a picture, but had no camera with me.  Conveniently, a blog entitled “but is it ART?” has a beautiful picture that reminds me very much of what I saw tonight.  Check it out here.
